ICP Australia is proud to introduce ICP DAS’s PCIe-S112i series card that provides 2 RS-232 serial ports. It is equipped with 256-byte hardware FIFO for each port, supports speeds up to 921600 bps, and facilitates full-duplex communication.

The data lines of each serial port on i-version PCIe cards come with a photocouplers design. The onboard photo couplers use a short optical transmission path to transfer a signal between elements of a circuit and keep the data lines electrically isolated. It can help cut down on ground loops, block voltage spikes, provide electrical isolation, and offer significant protection from serious over-voltage conditions in one circuit affecting the other.

In harsh industrial environments, the onboard ESD protection component (for i version) diverts the potentially damaging charge away from sensitive circuits to protect the computer and equipment from the sudden and momentary electric current. Serial communication cards are designed for use with intelligent devices like bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors, instrumentation equipment, and computers.
